Lift up Holy Hands and Pray

“For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all people. This has now been witnessed to at the proper time.” 1 Timothy 2:5-6

“Therefore I want the men everywhere to pray, lifting up holy hands without anger or disputing.” 1 Timothy 2:8

Do you really want to live the deeper life in your walk with God? I know that we always say that we want more of Jesus, but are we willing to pay the price to follow Jesus. Part of that price is to lift up holy hands to God and spend time in prayer.

One of the worst battles you will fight with Satan is about your prayer life. Satan does not want you to communicate with God. Prayer is our way to victory. Prayer is the way we develop a loving relationship with God. If we never talk to God, how will we know if we love God? How would we know if God loved us? Communication is so important in any relationship, but with God it is a matter of life or death. Living the deeper life, which is the only way to live, or die spiritually because you lose your love for God.

It is also the way we change the plans of Satan for our lives, our family, our community, our church and our nation. Prayer is the way that God fights our battles with Satan. The book of Daniel tells us that when we pray, God sends His angel in answer to our prayers. “Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them.” (Daniel 10:12) God steps into our battle as soon as we pray.
Lift up holy hands and pray!
