“He renews my strength. He guides me along the right paths, bring honor to His name.” Psalm 23:3
If we were to always follow the path that God has for us, we would not need to renew our strength. If you are like me, you don’t always follow God’s path. So many times, I take off in the opposite direction. I think that I know better than God what direction I need to follow. Yes, at times I do pray about the direction, but I don’t wait to hear His voice telling me the direction I must take. The direction I take looks really good so why would God not want me to take that direction. When I come to my senses and start listening to God, I really want to discuss this matter of my direction. I tell God how great the direction I was headed looks and what good things I could have done if God would have let me keep going.
Then God wakes me up and He tells me that my ways are not His ways. He also tells me that He knows the future and I don’t. God can see far ahead of us. As I look back on my life, I can see so many times when God changed my direction and it was in my best interest. If God’s new direction for my life is harder than I felt, He gives me the strength to go forward for Him.
Always, always, God’s direction is the right path, because it will bring honor to His name.
Whose path are you on? God’s or your’s?
