Life-Giving Water

“Jesus answered and said to her,‘whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.” (John 4:13-14)

“The fullness of life, the glorious
opportunity of living and loving means
very little to most people. They have had
it with life. Their hopes are dashed and
their dreams are broken.” (John Powell)
How true this is; most people just exist
day to day.

Most people are looking and planning on
what tomorrow will bring. Telling
themselves it will be the weekend soon
and I can relax or I am looking forward
to retirement when things will get better.

I am telling you, that unless you change
your life nothing in the future will

There are a few things that you
can do that will help to change your life
and your view of life.

Accepting oneself: You need to accept
and love yourself as God made you.

Be oneself: You can be liberated by self-
acceptance, to be authentic and real.
What you see is what you get. Only the
people who have joyfully accepted
themselves can take all the risk and
responsibilities of being themselves.

To believe: We must find a cause to
believe in or spend the rest of our lives
compensating ourselves for failure.

To belong: Find a place to call home.
Find a sense of community. A
community is a place where we delight
in each other, make others’ conditions
our own, rejoice together, mourn
together, labor and suffer together,
always having before our eyes that we
are all members of the community.

Drink of the living water: Accept the
living water that God has to offer when
you believe in Jesus Christ as your Lord
and Savior.
